Sunny Bank Koi, based in Congleton, Cheshire, has just this week announced the grand opening of their brand new store.
Based in the centre of town at 2 Bridge Street, Congleton, the stunning new store is a step away from many Koi retailers that you may have visited previously and takes on almost a concept approach, making the whole space a place to enjoy Koi and see them in a unique setting.
Business Owner, Neil Dunn, explains: “Instead of overcrowding the space with as many ponds as we could, our goal was to craft an enjoyable experience for our customers and local community.
“We’ve got six ponds inside that stock Japanese Koi and Tamasaba, our centrepiece pond is 2000 gallon, then there’s four 250 gallon ponds, along with a single 1200 gallon pond. Over winter, we’ll be building five more ponds outside for other fish such as Goldfish, English Koi and Sturgeon.
“We filter our water at source with our catalytic carbon to remove chloramines, and we have pond reactors on each system as post-filters to eradicate ammonia spikes with them being fresh systems. The biological and mechanical side of the filtration comprises of drums, sieves and showers.
“We’re really excited to see what we can do with this space, and moving forward we’re thinking of getting back into tropical fish too as there’s lots of demand with our store being on the high street.”

If you fancy a trip, why not pay them a visit and experience the stunning new store for yourself. Don’t forget to Mention Koi Talk while you’re there!
