The All Japan Koi Show is the world’s biggest event on the international Koi show scene, the equivalent of the Oscars (the film awards, not the fish!) to the Koi world and sees the culmination of endless hours, days, weeks and years worth of care put into the growth of and development of these magnificent Koi.
This weekend marks the 53rd year of the AJKS. Regardless of if you’re into Koi shows or not, the show really is a spectacle to see and it provides a unique opportunity to view and appreciate Koi at the top of their game. These events are taken extremely seriously by the breeders, in fact, the kudos of winning top prizes can be invaluable to the breeders and dealers taking part.
We’ll post more updates from the show next week but if you want to keep up-to date with the news as it happens then be sure to follow Koi Talk supporter, The Koi Partner, on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. He’s in Japan especially for the show!
